The most important part of this lesson is helping people learn to live the Spirit-filled life.  Don't get distracted by all the verses in the LOOKING UP section. Focus on just two or three of them.

You want to allow plenty of time to go through the Satisfied article.  This is available both online and in paper.  You may want to have some extra paper copies so that participants can share it with someone else (see Preparing for Mission).  They could also use GodTools or the MyFriends App to share Satisfied.

Objectives of the Ministry Foundations Phase

  • Holy Spirit dependence
  • Prayer

In the MyFriends Lifestyle we introduce people to the role of the Holy Spirit through an article called Satisfied.

LOOKING FORWARD

Let the group come up with their own ideas for creating a culture of Holy Spirit dependence.  If they get stuck you can suggest they:

  1. Model dependence on the Holy Spirit
  2. Share the Satisfied presentation with people
  3. Ask people if they understand Spiritual Breathing
  4. Give examples of when you used Spiritual Breathing
  5. Talk about the importance of relying on the Holy Spirit
Preparing for Mission
  • How will you keep the vision of relying on the Holy Spirit rather than on your own power and strength?
  • How might you create a culture of Holy Spirit dependence in your people?
  • Who can you share the Satisfied article with? This article is also available on the GodTools App.
  • Which petals of your Daisy Chain do you need to focus this next week?
  • Write “I will, by when” statements. Include “Who will you teach this lesson to?
  • Pray for one another.
