Before teaching this lesson make sure you are familiar with the prayer strategies mentioned:
You can find out more about these at hereslife.com.
Get into groups of 3-4 people and share:
Challenge: Can particpants recite the objectives of this phase by memory?
Remember: "Holy Spirit POWER" is only part of it.
There is also creating a relational, God-centred ENVIRONMENT and identifing THROUGH RELATIONSHIPS, like-minded individuals committed to being involved in ministry as a team.
Make sure that particpants understand that "When ministry does not go as expected, the first response should be to pray".
You may also need to change your methods and/or expectations, but pray first.
Jesus and three of his key disciples are returning from the mountain where Jesus was transfigured.
They are now returning to meet the other disciples, who are interacting with a large crowd and the teachers of the law.
15 and to have authority to drive out demons.
Read or watch Mark 9:14-29 two times as others listen.
14 When they came to the other disciples, they saw a large crowd around them and the teachers of the law arguing with them.15 As soon as all the people saw Jesus, they were overwhelmed with wonder and ran to greet him.
16 “What are you arguing with them about?” he asked.
17 A man in the crowd answered, “Teacher, I brought you my son, who is possessed by a spirit that has robbed him of speech.18 Whenever it seizes him, it throws him to the ground. He foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth and becomes rigid. I asked your disciples to drive out the spirit, but they could not.”
19 “You unbelieving generation,” Jesus replied, “how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy to me.”
20 So they brought him. When the spirit saw Jesus, it immediately threw the boy into a convulsion. He fell to the ground and rolled around, foaming at the mouth.
21 Jesus asked the boy’s father, “How long has he been like this?”
“From childhood,” he answered.22 “It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.”
23 “‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”
24 Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”
25 When Jesus saw that a crowd was running to the scene, he rebuked the impure spirit. “You deaf and mute spirit,” he said, “I command you, come out of him and never enter him again.”
26 The spirit shrieked, convulsed him violently and came out. The boy looked so much like a corpse that many said, “He’s dead.”27 But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him to his feet, and he stood up.
28 After Jesus had gone indoors, his disciples asked him privately, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?”
29 He replied, “This kind can come out only by prayer.”
When ministry is not going the way you expect, it might be wise to spend some extra time in prayer.
Prayer is direct connection to the source of power in ministry.
Using this strategy you can raise up over 1,000 prayer partners.
It starts very simple.
After a month or so, ask each person if they would start their own prayer calendar. If each person says "yes" you will have a team of 900 prayer partners.
Some people refer to this as a WhatApp group or private Facebook group. You can also call it your "Emergency Prayer Team" or "Just In Time Prayer".
Ask this group to pray for something you are about to do and then let them know how God answered their prayer.
MyFriends calls this 'praying with your non-Christian friends'.
Ask your non-Christian friends how you can pray for them and then let them overhear or read your prayer.
Then ask your friend how God answered your prayer.
This is a way to open your eyes to the needs of your community and also to build a common vision for your team.
Gather regularly to walk through your community, praying for the people who live there.

Have them watch this video on their own time. It is 40 minutes long.
